John W. Dalton --- BASS RIVER -- John W. Dalton, of 71 Nantucket Ave., Bass River, died July 3 at the age of 69. - He was the son of the late John W. and Adeline (Cashman) Dalton of Sandwich. - He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel (Morrissey) Dalton of Bass River, one son, John W. Dalton, Jr. of Brussels, Belgium, one step-son James McShane of Bass River, two step-daughters; Ellen J. McDonald and Ethel McShane of Bass River. Also one brother, Charles Dalton of Sandwich. - He graduated Sandwich schools and was a graduate of St. John's Preparatory School at Danvers. He was formerly an inspector for the state Department of Public Works, division of waterways. - For a number of years, Dalton was a real estate broker in East Dennis. - Funeral services will be held from the Hallett Funeral Home, 283 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, Tuesday, July 6 at 10:15 a.m. with a Requiem Mass at St. Pius the Tenth Catholic Church at 11 a.m. - Friends are invited to call at the funeral home Sunday 7-9 p.m. and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Burial in the Ancient Cemetery, Yarmouth.
