004 2012 Robert Cashman bio by Rachael Solimando
Robert Cashman was born April 28,1934 in Scituate MA, the second child of William Cashman and Alice Shea. Robert grew up in Scituate and played football for Scituate High school. He attended Massachusetts Maritime academy and was an outstanding navigator. He went to sea at an early age and made the sea his home while serving  in the merchant Marines. He was given a citation for bravery for risking his life to save his shipmates in a fire at sea. Robert died in 1982, he was 48 years old.
