View of the east side (street side) of the house at 107 Cross Street in West Quincy, MA. This house was built in 1890, the same year that William Cashman built his house at 117 Cross Street, two doors down. At the time of building, this lot was owned by John Cashman so John probably arranged for its construction or maybe even built it himself. In 1891, it was the residence of John's brother, Luke, and John's mother, Catherine Long Cashman. Until about 1911, this address was known as 37 Cross Street.

019 2006c 111 Cross Street house from 1940
019 2006c 111 Cross Street house from 1940
This duplex home was built in 1940 and is not from the Cashman period. It is located at 111 and 113 Cross Street in West Quincy, MA. This structure sits on land that was purchased by John Cashman in 1882, inherited by his heirs upon his death in 1913, and sold to Mary F. Murphy Cashman in 1919. Before John bought this property, it was owned by J. Q. A. Field, John's employer. It seems plausible that John would live in a tenant dwelling on his boss' land until he had saved enough to buy his own home.

"After the quarries closed, the open quarries filled with rainwater and ground water. Young people found a new sport...cliff jumping. After many injuries and deaths, the City of Quincy closed the quarries.  Today, only two quarries remain water filled: Cashman and Wendalls (Echo Lake)." - from Quincy, Massachusetts ~ City of Granite ~ Part 3 [Source:http://travel.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=28147497 8431489]

026 1909c Daniel and Minnie Reardon try out the Maxwell
"A Doctor and his Wife try out the Maxwell." This is the caption that accompanied this photo in the biography of Daniel Bartholomew Reardon that was written by his son, Paul Cashman Reardon. According to P. C. Reardon, this was the first automobile that Dr. Daniel B. Reardon ever owned. The license plate on the front of the car bears the stamp, "MASS - 1909", which suggests that this photo was taken circa 1909. The car itself is very similar in appearance to the 1907 Maxwell 12-horsepower runabout. [Photo credit: collection of Martha Reardon Bewick]

It could have been taken in 1914 and probably behind their home at 1200 Hancock Street in Quincy MA. The house was one of those on "Doctors' Row" on Hancock Street. The house had been built by Thomas Adams in the 1700s, and is now the location of the Citizens Bank building." St. Louis Cathedral  "St. Louis Cathedral, in St. Louis Missouri, a magnificent Romanesque-Byzantine basilica.  In construction since 1908, the whole interior above the height of 50 feet is covered by superb mosaics.  Only the two transept half domes and neighboring “soffits” or underarches had been painted more than 50 years ago, and, badly deteriorated, needed replacing.  It was determined to accomplish this replacement with mosaics of the Resurrection and the Holy Spirit.  I had the good fortune to be the artist selected, two years ago.  In another two years my part of the project should be finished.  To complete areas of 82 feet circumference by 42 feet in height, and of 76 feet in length by 18 feet in height, and of 76 feet in length by 18 feet in width, with the largest figure 14 feet tall, will demand at least that time span.  Of 8,000 square feet, only half is already safely on its way."
